Guiso de Garbanzos

(Bean Soup)

1 cup chick peas
¼ cup sausages
4 cups water
1 smoked ham hock
3 minced garlic cloves
3 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp green pepper
½ tsp vinegar
1 medium chopped onion
½ cup tomato sauce
½ tsp oregano
1 cup squash
1/3 head cabbage
salt to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
1 potato chopped and peeled

Boil all ingredients except squash, cabbage, and potato in large stockpot
When peas are tender (about 2hrs) add remaining ingredients and cook until soft
